Funding

Subsidies are often available for paediatric nutrition services. Explore this guide to Medicare, insurance, and NDIS pathways to see how your family can lower healthcare costs.

Medicare

Balanced Nutrition operates as a certified provider for Medicare. This status enables qualified families to claim significant back on expert dietary consultations through several government schemes.

To use these benefits, get a GP referral. This requires your doctor to set up a Chronic Disease Management plan involving specific Team Care Arrangements to oversee your child's ongoing nutritional therapy.

5 Annual Claims: Qualifying patients can usually claim up to five sessions each year for dietary support.

Criteria: Coverage applies to long-term health issues expected to last over half a year, specifically assisting with neurodivergence like Autism and ADHD or complex developmental food challenges.

Specialist Eating Care (EDP)

Children needing frequent care for eating difficulties like ARFID may secure up to 20 covered sessions annually. Speak with your paediatrician or local doctor about establishing a formal Eating Disorder Management Plan to begin this process.

Private Health Care

Most major Australian insurers offer partial coverage for Accredited Practising Dietitian visits based on your policy tier. Since every contract differs, we suggest contacting your provider to verify what your specific plan includes for nutrition services.

Confirm if your policy includes telehealth, as some insurers apply specific rules to digital health. After your consult, we send an official invoice to your inbox at hello@balanced-nutrition.com.au for you to submit to your fund for a rapid refund process.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Our team collaborates with your coordinators to ensure our clinical advice integrates perfectly with the goals outlined in your child's current disability plan.
