Whatever Stage You're At - You Are Welcome Here.
You don't need to be at your worst to deserve support. And you don't need to have it all figured out before you reach out. If any of the following feel familiar, we'd like you to know that help is available - and that things can genuinely change.
-
Food feels frightening, overwhelming or completely out of control
-
You have rules and rituals around eating that are exhausting to maintain - and terrifying to let go of
-
Your relationship with food and your body is affecting most areas of your life
-
You've wanted to change for a long time but haven't felt safe enough to do so
-
You're worried about being judged, weighed, or told what to do
-
You've had support before that didn't feel right - and you're cautious about trying again
-
You're not sure if what you're experiencing is "serious enough" to warrant help
WHY A DIETITIAN
Nutrition Support Is A Core Part Of Eating Disorder Recovery - Not An Optional Extra.
Nutrition support is a core part of eating disorder recovery - not an optional extra. Intro: Research consistently shows that a multidisciplinary approach - including medical, psychological and dietetic support - leads to the best outcomes in eating disorder recovery. A dietitian doesn't replace your psychologist or GP. We work alongside them, addressing the nutritional and behavioural dimensions of recovery that sit within our specific expertise.
Nutritional rehabilitation Eating disorders affect how the body relates to food, hunger, fullness and nourishment. A dietitian helps restore safe, regular and flexible eating - gently, and at a pace that is clinically appropriate and manageable for you.
Food and eating behaviours We work on the practical, day-to-day dimensions of eating - meal structure, food flexibility, reducing fear foods and food rules - in a way that complements the psychological work you're doing with your treating team.
A weight-neutral, non-shame space We do not focus on weight as a measure of progress or health. We do not use shame, restriction or pressure. Our role is to support your relationship with food and your body - not to control it.our specific expertise.
OUR APPROACH
Gentle. Evidence-based. Always LED By What Feels Safe For You.
We work within an eating-disorder-informed, weight-neutral framework that is aligned with ANZ Eating Disorders best practice guidelines. Every session is tailored to where you are right now - not where we think you should be.
There are no weigh-ins, no calorie counting and no prescribed meal plans handed over without context or conversation. We work collaboratively - which means your voice matters in every decision we make together.
We also understand that trust takes time. If you've had previous experiences with health professionals that felt unsafe or unhelpful, we take that seriously. Building a therapeutic relationship where you feel genuinely supported is the foundation of everything we do.
We work closely with your broader care team - your GP, psychologist, psychiatrist or any other treating professional - and communicate with them with your full knowledge and consent.

What Your First Appointment Looks Like
Your first session is a gentle, unhurried 60-minute conversation. We'll talk about where you are right now, what's brought you here and what feels most important to you at this point. There is no agenda and no pressure to cover anything you're not ready for.

MEDICARE & REBATES

What's Available
-
Medicare EDP - If you have a formal eating disorder diagnosis, your GP can issue an Eating Disorder Treatment and Management Plan. This gives you access to up to 20 rebated dietitian sessions per year as part of a broader treatment plan. Speak to your GP about whether you are eligible.
-
Medicare CDMP - If an EDP is not yet in place, a Chronic Disease Management Plan may provide access to up to 5 rebated allied health sessions per year as an interim option.
-
Private health insurance - Many Extras policies cover dietitian appointments. Check with your fund directly for your rebate entitlements.
-
Private billing - All appointments can be accessed privately without a GP referral.
Note: If you're unsure which pathway applies to you, or you'd like help understanding your options before booking, please reach out - we're happy to guide you through it.
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions People Often Have Before Reaching Out
No. Many people we work with are experiencing disordered eating or a difficult relationship with food without a formal diagnosis. You don't need a label to deserve support - if food and eating are causing you distress, that's enough.
No - unless you specifically request it. We do not use weight as a measure of your progress or health, and we do not discuss specific numbers unless it is clinically necessary and you have consented to it. Our focus is on how you feel, how your eating is changing and how your relationship with food is developing.
We hear this often. Our approach is genuinely collaborative - which means nothing is done to you, everything is done with you. We won't push you beyond what feels safe, and we take previous experiences with health professionals seriously. Building trust comes first.
Yes. We work with people who are just beginning to consider seeking help, people who are mid-recovery, and people who have been managing their eating disorder for many years. Wherever you are is a valid place to start.
Yes - and we actively encourage a team approach. We're experienced in working as part of a multidisciplinary team and will communicate with your treating professionals with your knowledge and full consent throughout.
