SOUND FAMILIAR?
Gut Symptoms Affect Far More Than Just Digestion - And You Deserve Answers, Not Just Management.
If your gut is making daily life harder than it should be, you're far from alone. IBS affects roughly 1 in 5 Australians - and women are disproportionately affected. If any of these ring true, specialist nutrition support could make a significant difference.
-
You're bloated most days - regardless of what you eat or how carefully you try to manage it
-
Your bowel habits are unpredictable, uncomfortable or affecting your confidence
-
You've been told you have IBS but nobody has properly explained what to do about it
-
You're eliminating more and more foods trying to find relief - and your diet is getting smaller
-
Eating out, socialising or travelling feels stressful because of your gut
-
Your gut symptoms seem to flare with your menstrual cycle or under stress
-
You've tried cutting things out based on internet advice - and you're still not getting consistent results
WHY IT MATTERS
The Gut Is Complex. A Systematic, Evidence-based Approach Gets Better Results Than Guesswork.
The gut-diet relationship is one of the most researched areas in nutrition - but also one of the most misrepresented online. Not everyone with IBS has the same triggers, and wholesale elimination diets without proper guidance can leave you more restricted and no better off.
The Low FODMAP diet requires expert guidance
The Low FODMAP diet - developed by Monash University here in Australia - is the gold standard evidence-based approach for IBS. But it has three distinct phases, and doing it without a dietitian often means staying in unnecessary elimination for too long, missing reintroductions or ending up more restricted than you need to be. We guide you through every phase properly.
Gut symptoms in women are often hormonal
The gut-hormone connection is real and well-evidenced. Many women notice that their IBS symptoms fluctuate with their cycle, or that gut symptoms overlap with conditions like endometriosis or PCOS. We take this into account - because treating your gut in isolation of your hormonal health often means missing the full picture.
Microbiome diversity matters as much as restriction
A healthy gut needs variety - not less of everything. Our goal is always to get you eating as broadly as possible while managing your symptoms, not to keep you on a restricted diet indefinitely.
OUR APPROACH
Systematic, Evidence-based And Always Working Toward More Food Freedom - Not Less.
We take a structured, evidence-based approach to gut health that starts with properly understanding your symptoms, triggers and full health picture before making any recommendations.
Where Low FODMAP is appropriate, we guide you through all three phases - elimination, reintroduction and personalisation - correctly and at the right pace. The reintroduction phase is where most people go wrong when they try it alone, and it's also where the most important work happens.
Our aim is aWe also look beyond FODMAP. Stress, sleep, gut microbiome diversity, hormonal health and eating patterns all influence gut function - and we factor all of these in.
Our aim is always to get you to a place where you're eating as broadly and freely as possible, with a clear understanding of what works for your gut specifically.
Supporting Pillars:
-
Low FODMAP therapy - all three phases, guided correctly
-
Individual trigger identification - not blanket elimination
-
Gut-hormone connection - particularly relevant for women
-
Microbiome diversity and long-term gut health
-
Practical strategies that don't take over your life

HOW IT WORKS
What Your First Gut Health Appointment Looks Like
Your first session is 60 minutes. We'll take a thorough history of your gut symptoms, eating patterns, relevant medical background and what you've already tried. If you've had any relevant investigations - colonoscopy, breath tests, gastroenterologist reports - bring those along, they're useful context.
From there we'll recommend the most appropriate approach for your situation and build a structured plan. If Low FODMAP is right for you, we'll take you through it properly - explaining each phase, what to expect, and how to make it as manageable as possible alongside your everyday life.

GOOD TO KNOW
Questions People With Ibs And Gut Issues Often Ask
Quite possibly, yes. The Low FODMAP diet is highly effective when done correctly - but most people who try it without guidance either stay in the elimination phase too long, skip the reintroduction phase entirely, or use inaccurate food lists. Working through it properly with a dietitian, particularly the systematic reintroduction phase, often produces very different results.
No. Many people we see are experiencing significant gut symptoms without a formal diagnosis. We assess your full symptom picture and work with what's actually happening for you, regardless of what's on paper.
The elimination phase typically runs for 4-6 weeks. Reintroduction is then done systematically over several weeks to identify your specific triggers. The full process - done properly - usually takes 3-4 months, after which the goal is a personalised long-term eating pattern with as much variety as possible.
Very likely, yes. There is a well-established connection between hormonal fluctuations and gut function. Many women with IBS notice their symptoms worsen at specific points in their cycle. We take this into account as part of your overall assessment, particularly if you also have PCOS or endometriosis.
Yes. Chronic bloating, reflux, constipation and unpredictable digestion can all benefit from a dietary approach, even without an IBS diagnosis. If gut symptoms are affecting your daily life, there's almost always something useful we can do from a nutrition standpoint.
